Fully restored 35 seat single deck half cab bus, which was new in 1949 and entered service in 1950 with her original Tilling operator, Crosville Motor Services Ltd working out of the Chester depot for many years.

Bristol Lodekka (LD), which was built for Bristol Omnibus Company where it operated on Bristol city routes for many years.

Traditional rear open platform operation is sure to take you back to the 'hop on, hop off ' travel of former years. Now fully restored, this vintage vehicle is the latest bus to be part of the Operational Vintage Fleet within the Crosville business.

This vintage vehicle is a great way of moving large numbers of passengers as the seating capacity totals 60. Bristol VRT (VR), which was built for Bristol Omnibus Company joint services where it served Bristol itself for many years then later transferring to Weston-super-Mare, having been converted to open top.

Bristol FLF – DEL 893C, Built 1965, 72 Passengers

Bristol Lodekka (FLF), delivered to Hants and Dorset Motor Services in 1965. This vintage bus has been restored to its original Tilling Green and Cream livery along with original leatherette interior which helps to recall a former era.  This vintage vehicle has been extensively restored to return it into its present condition.  DEL 893C captures the true atmosphere of 1960s travel and is sure to impress any hirer. BristoL L5G - KFM893,
Year 1950, 35 Passengers

Built in 1950 for Crosville Motor Services of Chester, KFM 893 has a Gardner 7.0 litre, 5-cylinder engine and 5 speed crash gearbox and was originally used on bus services across the company’s operating area that extended from Cheshire, Liverpool and The Wirral into north and central Wales. It was later converted for use as a towing bus but has now been extensively renovated as a dual-purpose vehicle, with luxury seats, as would have been used on longer distance and express services. Bristol Lodekka – YDL 318,
Year 1962, 60 Passengers

YDL 318

Bristol Lodekka (FS6G), which was built for Southern Vectis.  YDL operated on the Isle of Wight for many years and was part of the extensive Tilling fleet that Southern Vectis owned.

The traditional 'hop on, hop off' rear open platform is fitted with conductor-operated doors which offers the best of both worlds on the colder evenings of winter months. Now fully restored, this vintage bus is representative of many vehicles which were delivered new from Eastern Coach Works, Lowestoft.  Both the inside and outside have been restored to original condition and beautifully recalls the experience of public transport in the 1950s and 1960s.

DFG81Bristol FSF - 891 VFM,
1962, 60 Passengers

Bristol Lodekka (FSF6G), which was built for Crosville Motor Services Ltd in in 1962.  891 VFM operated for many years with Crosville and later served as an open top bus and is now a fine example of traditional open top operations.  The vehicle is now back under Crosville ownership and will be seen operating within the Weston seafront area this year as well as being a popular choice in our vintage private hire fleet.

This vehicle is due to return from having a full restoration and repaint in readiness for her 2012 season where she will be able to show off her elegant 'Tilling Cream' with black mudguards livery, reminiscent of several similar vehicles which ran on the Weston seafront services back in the 1960s.  Both the inside and outside have been restored to immaculate condition.  This is sure to add a special touch to those summer and evening hires for 2012.

JLJ 403Leyland PS2/3 - JLJ 403, 1949, 35 Passengers

 JLJ 403, Leyland PS2/3.  This vehicle is one of a batch of typically designed Bournemouth full-fronted Leyland Tiger coaches bodied by Burlingham, 46 was new in 1949.
